Overview

Wonderful, down-to-earth family in West Austin is looking for an experienced gardener and groundskeeper to care for their and their neighbor’s property.  Property one is two acres with a small area of grass.  Property two is ## acres with a small pond.  Both have manicured as well as natural wooded areas that need to be maintained.  Both properties have pools that will be part of the employee's responsibility. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Central Texas Native plants and their care and be able to source and price plants for regular maintenance/replacement and requested seasonal projects.

Duties & Key Success Factors

  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal
  • Highly organized & excellent eye for detail.
  • Mowing (weekly in winter, bi-weekly in summer)
  • Bed cleaning
  • Pruning, trimming, deadheading, and replacement of dead plants.
  • Seasonal planting
  • Sprinkler system maintenance and repair (PVC knowledge)
  • Pool (2) and pool equipment maintenance/diagnostics
  • Pond maintenance
  • Exterior cleaning (driveways, patios, doorways, light fixtures, gates, garages)
  • Property walks to check fencing and poison ivy and poison oak.
  • Non-Toxic Chemical use knowledge
  • Heavy lifting
  • Special project help
    • Cleaning and maintenance of "outbuildings/structures"
    • Property clearing as needed
    • Holiday decor

Other Considerations

The candidate’s payroll will be split between two families and be responsible for splitting their time appropriately and communicating when projects are taking away from one client or the other. While the ideal candidate will fill all the above requirements and success factors, the families are willing to provide training resources to a candidate that fills 90% and demonstrates a positive outlook and strong work ethic. The two residences are on a private road.  During times of inclement weather, road clearing and cleaning will be needed as it is not covered by the city.

Overview

Well-established family in the University Park area of Dallas is looking for a Family Assistant with a strong history of childcare.  It is important that the candidate is active and energetic, and able to nurture the children’s social-emotional and educational development (i.e., help with homework and facilitate play with other children).  The candidate should also be extremely organized to help organize the family schedule (and comfortable using google calendar). The ideal candidate will seamlessly work alongside 2 co-nannies/housekeepers that are very important to the family.  All are instrumental in the support of Mr., and Mrs., three children (5, 9, and 10 years old), and a friendly, energetic Labradoodle.  The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, articulate, and able to cultivate a positive relationship with the existing staff.

Requirements

  • 5 – 10 years Private Service industry experience
  • 2 - 5 years Education experience

Shared Childcare Duties:

Personal Cell Phone: The family’s expectation is that their staff will not make personal calls or texts while supervising the children or driving. Social Media: Pictures of the children, the residence(s) and/or other assets should never be posted to social media at any time. Any pictures taken for information or informative purposes should be deleted after sending.  If a backup is needed, the photo should be uploaded to the family’s cloud drive and immediately deleted from the device. Punctuality: It is absolutely required that the Principals can count on you 100% and that you are punctual in getting to the residence for your assigned hours.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 10:30 – 6:30 Compensation:  $35 - $40/hour Busy Doctor/Single Mother with home-schooled twin boys is looking for a family assistant to come and care for her home and take a load off her shoulders.  Home is 3600 sq ft.  Children are becoming self-sufficient but need an adult to guide their path. Answer questions and make sure schoolwork is complete (don’t do it for them).  In the home is also a standard poodle, two new puppies, and two senior cats.  Grandma lives close by and comes over for the occasional visit.

Mrs. handles most of the contractor scheduling.  She would like to have someone to identify issues, briefly research vendors options and send to her so she can call and make the arrangements. One child struggles with organization due to dysgraphia, someone patient that can help provide him guidance (not do it for them) to help them thrive. Keys to the job: Kids, Food & Cleanliness.
