Overview
We are seeking an experienced family assistant and driver to support an entrepreneurial household in Dallas, TX. The principal and family currently live in Frisco which is where the job will start, they are moving into a home in Preston Hollow in early April. Once the family is moved, you will report to the new home moving forward.
The current home is about 6,000 sq. ft. and consists of two Principals and two teenage boys. The core responsibilities will be driving the family to where they need to go. During slow periods, the Principals hope that this person will be proactive in finding additional tasks, such as light housekeeping, running personal errands, and potentially stocking the fridge and pantry.
Being a home with four independent family members requires someone who isn’t expecting a set schedule. The family is looking for someone who can be adaptable. There may be weeks in which the employee doesn’t receive a day off due to schedule demands, however the employer will ensure that days off will be given and all hours worked will be compensated.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience working with private households as a W2 employee.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate varying weekly needs.
- Strong communicator, both written and verbal. (English & Spanish is a strong preference)
- High level of discretion, loyalty, integrity, and honesty.
- Highly organized and excellent eye for detail.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Capable of passing an extensive background check and BAI interview.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate varying weekly needs.
- Calendar management to keep on top of the pick-up and drop-off schedules.
- Comfortable driving a large SUV and demonstrate safe driving best practices.
- Confident Swimmer
Duties & Key Success Factors
- Driving duties:
- Transporting the employer, his two teenage sons, and running errands as needed. This includes driving the boys to school, sports practices, and other activities.
- Airport Pickups and Drop-offs
- Keep vehicles clean and address any maintenance needs with the Mr.
- Light household assistance:
- Performing basic household tasks such as light cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, and meal preparation when required.
- Proactively anticipate personal needs. Example: If the professional sees that Mr. has a busy schedule and hasn’t eaten lunch, offer to pick something up for him.
- Pet care:
- Assisting with the care of the soon to be four family dogs, including walking, feeding, and checking in on them when the family is away.
- Coordinate Grooming appointments and occasional vet visits.
- Be predictive and proactive in their actions.
- Discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality of the Principals and their guests.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Other Considerations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Frequent bending, stooping, and stretching
- Ability to negotiate a multi-story house with stairs many times a day
- Ability to use a ladder up to 6’
