Overview
The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the residence. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, discretion, and professionalism. The ideal candidate will take ownership of household cleanliness, oversee laundry and wardrobe management, and collaborate with other household staff to ensure seamless operations.
The ideal candidate will be someone who considers themselves a Professional Housekeeper and loves what they do and does it out of choice not necessity. They should have a service heart and bring a positive energy and attitude to work. The current leadership have cultivated a positive work environment and are looking for someone who can add to it and not detract from it.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a luxury private residence in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of household cleaning techniques, fine fabric care, and organization.
- Ability to work independently with a proactive mindset.
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks with efficiency in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to adapt to household preferences and maintain a positive, professional demeanor.
- Ability to seamlessly fit into a harmonious work environment.
- High level of discretion, loyalty, integrity, and honesty.
- Capable of passing an extensive background check and BAI interview.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
- Care and laundering fine linens and fabrics.
- Care of silver, crystal, and fine jewelry.
- Care and laundering of culture garments, including steaming, ironing, and mending.
Duties & Key Success Factors
Housekeeping & Organization:
- Maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the residence, including deep cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing.
- Ensure all common areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchens are consistently tidy and presentable.
- Organize storage spaces, closets, and household inventory.
- Rotate seasonal clothing, linens, and household items as needed.
- Assist team with laundry.
- Iron and steam garments as needed.
Household Operations:
- Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and household essentials, replenishing as necessary.
- Ensure all household appliances and cleaning equipment are in working order.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers when necessary.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with the DOR/ Family Assistants, Laundress, and other household staff.
- Maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
- Follow established household protocols and routines.
Other Considerations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and stretching.
- Ability to negotiate a multi-story house with stairs many times a day.
- Ability to use a ladder up to 6’
