Overview
A kind and down-to-earth high-profile Principal couple located in Preston Hollow are looking for a Housekeeper to replace their current one who is retiring after over 25 years with the family. The remainder of the staff have been with the family for between 10 and 25+ years.
This is a traditional housekeeper job that will work as directed by the Mrs. and coordinate with the Chef and personal/executive assistants when needed. While the Principals are fastidious about the cleanliness of their home, they are gracious and cognizant of their staff and the value they provide.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience Housekeeping full-time for a luxury residence.
- Established longevity.
- Ability to seamlessly fit into a harmonious work environment.
- Strong communicator,
- High level of discretion, loyalty, integrity, and honesty.
- Highly organized with a keen eye for cleanliness that surpasses the Mrs.’
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Capable of passing an extensive background check and BAI interview.
- Kind and wanting to have a positive impact on the energy of the home.
Duties & Key Success Factors
- Full-Charge Housekeeping, including Housekeeping, House Cleaning & Deep Cleaning.
- Organizing personal and storage areas.
- Vacuum surfaces and disinfect sanitary areas.
- Dust fine furnishings and delicate exteriors.
- Laundry including ironing and steaming.
- Wardrobe and garment management including shoes and accessories.
- General household maintenance (indoor plant care, reporting service needs, etc.).
- Support for the Principal’s pets (one dog and two cats), including general care, feeding, and transportation.
- Simple meal preparation when the Chef is not available.
- Occasional Miscellaneous errands.
Other Considerations
Option 1: Full-time employment with consistent pay, year-round, if the candidate is willing to travel, for approximately 5 months out of the year. 4 months in Maine, plus ~1 month in Florida, and occasional weekends at a ranch outside of Waco, TX. (Housing provided for all assignments outside of Dallas.)
Option 2: Full-time employment with consistent pay while Principals are in their primary residence, plus occasional weekends at a ranch outside of Waco, TX. The employee will be furloughed during the summer months, while the family is in Maine and when the family travels to Florida. During this period, the candidate will agree to be paid 40% of their normal full-time pay and provide limited support as needed (Household walkthroughs, vendor supervision, etc).
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and stretching.
- Ability to negotiate a multi-story house with stairs many times a day.
- Ability to use a ladder up to 6’
