Overview

Seeking a dedicated and experienced, live-on, Family Assistant to join a private household in Fishers, Indiana. This role entails a diverse range of responsibilities including light cooking, cleaning, and childcare for twin 10-year-old children, with school pick-ups and drop-offs, assisting with homework and managing the children’s calendar of extracurriculars. The ideal candidate will be proactive, organized, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment with a willingness to travel.

Requirements

  • Capable of passing an extensive background check and BAI interview.
  • Prior experience in a similar role, preferably within a private household setting.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Valid passport.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and requirements.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ability to live on property and travel with family as required.

Duties & Key Success Factors

  • Provide childcare and supervision, including overnight care when needed, for the family’s twin 10-year-old children, always ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Attend to children while principals are traveling
  • Manage school pick-ups and drop-offs, as well as transporting the children to extracurricular activities, play dates or appointments.
  • Maintain calendar of children’s movements including coordination of play dates and necessary appointments.
  • Perform routine light cooking duties (preparing breakfast for the children and a few dinner meals a week), adhering to any dietary preferences or restrictions.
  • Support childrens by assisting with schoolwork and ensuring educational goals are on track.
  • Foster a fun, engaging and educational environment for the children while instilling them with a sense of responsibility and awareness of life skills.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the household, including tidying up common areas and routinely cleaning children’s bedrooms and play areas.
  • Support the family with various errands and tasks as needed, such as grocery shopping or running household errands.
  • Act as a reliable and trustworthy resource for the family, demonstrating professionalism and discretion in all interactions.
  • Under supervision of Estate Manager, work alongside the Household Assistant to coordinate family schedules.
  • Assist with family event planning.
  • Assist Household Assistant with pet care when needed.
  • Other duties as directed by principals and Estate Manager

Other Considerations

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and stretching
  • Ability to negotiate a multi-story house with stairs many times a day
  • Ability to use a ladder up to 6’
