Schedule: To be defined with the right candidate
Compensation:  $95,000 – $110,000
Benefits: 15 days PTO, Paid Holidays, Medical & Dental Insurance being defined.

Newly retired Mr. & Mrs. need a Household Manager to help them coordinate the new staff for their newly built home in West Austin.  The family has a track record of longevity amongst household and marine staff.

The 11,000 sq. ft. home is brand new and only recently moved into.  The candidate will be responsible for finishing the move-in, organizing the family’s files and home, and helping screen and onboard new staff.  You will also coordinate any warranty repair with the builder and coordinate the completion of the final punch list.  The Household Manager will work independently while keeping the Principals informed, maintain a high level of confidentiality, and be comfortable with flexible work hours. The ability to communicate effectively upstream and downstream while building positive relationships is critical. The successful candidate will be able to provide a high level of service to the family while maintaining a positive attitude and a professional demeanor at all times.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years experience in managing a Residence for HNW clients.
  • Established longevity.
  • Ability to seamlessly fit into a harmonious work environment.
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal.
  • High level of discretion, loyalty, integrity, and honesty.
  • Highly organized and excellent eye for detail.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Capable of passing an extensive background check and BAI interview.
  • Proven ability to negotiate contracts with various vendors (landscaping, maintenance etc.)
  • Proven experience with providing oversight of major landscape and maintenance projects.
  • Execute and adhere strictly to a non-disclosure agreement.
  • A strong working knowing Google Workspace.
  • Smart home technology comprehensive (Control 4).
  • iOS proficient.
  • PC & Mac capable.
  • A strong understanding of lake-side living. (personal dock and marine toy management)
  • Dog friendly.

Duties & Key Success Factors

  • Full charge Household & Property Management.
  • Pantry & Refrigerator inventory and shopping.
  • Light meal prep for Mr. & Mrs. (not full cooking, but true meal “prep.”)
  • Personal Calendar Management.
  • Inspect the property weekly for repairs or maintenance. Independently coordinate small projects and discuss options for large ones with the Principal.
  • Small event management.
    • ~ 1/mo. cocktails with 6-8 guests (service and assistance only)
    • 2-3/year med events with 30 – 50 guests (coordination)
  • Handle simple house maintenance like changing air filters, light bulbs, diffusers, etc., when the houseman/caretaker is not available.
  • Being hands-on with administrative duties, including:
    • Invoice management and approval.
    • Receipt coding and collecting for staff credit cards.
    • Managing household staff schedules.
    • Setting appointments for house repairs and maintenance.
    • Create and execute a vendor onboarding and management process/policy.
    • Create and maintain Household & Property Manual & Inventories.
    • Manage, train, and develop household staff as needed.
  • Ensure that the home and property are kept at the highest standards of cleanliness.
  • Run errands as needed (e.g., dry cleaning, shoe repairs/shine, groceries, pick up prescriptions, etc.)

Other Considerations

There is a potential for travel to a secondary home in the Bahamas.  This home is also new and being cared for by local help.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and stretching
  • Ability to negotiate a multi-story house with stairs many times a day
  • Ability to use a ladder up to 6’
