This is a unique contract position for a Household Manager that wants to hone their inventory and household documentation skills.  Currently only considering local candidates. Family recently relocated to Austin and is looking for someone to inventory the home and fill in their household manuals.  This process is expected to take six (6) months and will report directly to the Estate Manager located out of state.  You will be a part of a very large and supportive team, you will be expected to embody the same.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gathering all information to populate current templated estate manual.
  • Establish inventory procedures for all areas of the home, including but not limited to Kitchen pantry and refrigerators, housekeeping, laundry and service ware.
  • Manage housekeeping staff and development of staff synergy.
  • Bridge any communication gapes to improve staff awareness of regularly changing household activities.

Additional Expectations:

  • Communicate and adapt to constantly changing schedule to household staff.
  • Lending a hand with frequent last-minute High-End entertainment and service.

Seeking a live-out Houseman/Household Manager for an 8,000 ft home in Austin. The family is only in residence for 4-5 days a year and requires a person to prep the home ready for their arrival. The Caretaker we are seeking should be guest-focused and have extensive experience with luxury homes and properties. This professional and responsible individual should expect to manage full daily operations and maintenance at the assigned property and be front-line for guests and Principal’s.

Responsibilities

Property Management- 90% of time
  • Hands-on upkeep of the entire property
  • Manage and coordinate any vendor and maintenance schedules on-site
  • Maintaining a meticulous and regular inventory of vehicles throughout the country
  • Complete minor repairs and proactively address maintenance issues
  • Manage landscaping and grounds maintenance
  • Maintain productive and upstanding relationships with local vendors
  • Provide ongoing support for residents and guests
  • Pool maintenance
Houseman-When Principles are using property
  • Provide an excellent experience for Principal’s while they are in residence
  • Basic cooking as requested
  • Perform basic duties for social engagements and parties
  • Driving and chauffeur services
  • Run errands for Principles
  • Ensure any maintenance issues are corrected immediately
  • Keep a stocked and organized house to Principal’s standard
  • Various concierge services as needed
Requirements
  • Experience working as house staff houseman, house manager, etc.)
  • Previous proven track record for luxury home property management
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Hands-on property upkeep
  • Maintenance experience and knowledge of the special considerations related to luxury homes
  • Effective communicator and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Flexible availability – Nights and weekends may be required
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to pass a background check
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the US
  • Flexibility to travel to multiple homes if and when necessary

Position Summary:
The housekeeper is an integral part of a team the ensures the residence is clean and orderly while maintaining owner privacy.  Responsible for performing a variety of domestic duties, including household maintenance, running errands, laundry, and shopping.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Partners with team members to provide area-wide support
  • Ensures the household is maintained to the highest aesthetic and performance standards
  • Sweeps, mops, polishes floors and cleans furniture and windows
  • Maintain consistency of daily activities, weekly activities, and monthly activities
  • Answers phone inquiries into the household in a confidential and professional manner
  • Make recommendations to improve and upgrade the level of detail, service, and operational sophistication.
  • Conduct frequent reviews of the surroundings to ensure quality issues are identified and reported to the appropriate person or are rectified if they relate to the housekeeping team.
  • May be required to oversee pets on occasion
  • Adhere to all OSHA Federal/State safety procedures

Overview

This is a role for a seasoned PSP with excellent time management skills and experience in multiple roles in Private Service.  The primary function is as Chef who can seamlessly evolve as needed and/or as directed and help with Family Assistant tasks and Assistant Household Management functions as needed on a regular basis. Mr. & Mrs. are looking for a Family Chef that will help with some of the family assistant and assistant house manager duties.  Household has a proven track record of loyal and happy employees with over 20 years of tenure. Mr. & Mrs. travel frequently but spend most of their time in the Denver home, summers in Steamboat Springs, and frequent trips to Bluffton home for 2-week stints.  This person will only travel to cook for the family when there are parties that need food.  Seasonal events (Thanksgiving in Bluffton), and other Holiday Celebrations. When not traveling with family, chef will provision, prepare and send food and other supplies with Principals, at time of Principal’s travel, on their Private aircraft, or vehicles.  However, travel will be needed to seasonally rotate stock, restock, resupply, and prep homes.

Requirements

  • Well-versed in Asian, Middle Eastern, American Regional foods and Mediterranean stylized cuisines.
  • Use of game meats, big game, and game foul.
  • Some baking
  • Clean eating/nutritionally dense food using locally sourced/in-season ingredients
  • Menu planning, provisioning, cooking, and serving for 2-20.
  • Weekly calendar for both food and goals/objectives provided to principals
  • Maintain Kitchen facilities at the highest level of cleanliness
  • Manage seasonal, preventative, and reactionary maintenance on all equipment related to F&B
  • Oversee vendors when HM is not available.
  • Dinner parties rarely exceed 25 people, mostly at the Bluffton home.
  • Assist with dog care. Feed, walk and playing when time permits, schedule groomers—three very loved English Cocker Spaniels.  When principals are traveling without the puppies, you will be required to stay on property until they return.
  • Administrative duties include online ordering, project and status reports and accounting reporting.

The exiting staff member will be conducting the initial interview and screening of presented candidates.  This person is leaving due to a personal desire to relocate closer to family.  They speak very highly and genuinely fondly of the principals.  This person will also share their provisioning schedules and checklists as well as any and all recipes needed to make the Principals happy; the drive currently contains close to 1000 recipes which with new ones coming from Mrs often.

This Property Caretaker position is for an experienced professional seeking a unique opportunity. The role is to care for a 10,000 sq ft main house, 2000 sq ft cabin, 2500 sq ft mothers house on 150 acres, interior/exterior maintenance, project management, and occasional trips to home in Dallas to perform handy-man tasks and mechanical inspections.  The property is a lake house and secondary home on Cedar Creek Reservoir.
Duties Include but are not limited to:
  • Manage daily access to the property
  • Cleaning, care, and maintenance of vehicles. Create a schedule and maintain all mechanical equipment on the property.  Including ATVs, recreational vehicles, boats, property maintenance equipment.
  • Maintaining and cleaning the garage.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot any mechanicals that fails. Provide EM and Principals proposal options to perform any repairs.
  • Ensure the property is maintained at all times and ready for Principal visits.
  • Oversee renovation projects and report to Estate Manager & Principals.
  • Find creative solutions to reoccurring issues
  • Receive fuel deliveries
  • Refuel Non-Ethanol fuel tank and Diesel as needed at local gas station.
  • Interior & Exterior lightbulb check replacement and fixture cleaning.
  • Pre-Arrival prep of main house perimeter to ensure a welcoming environment
  • Pre-Arrival and Post-Departure prep/clean/store of boats, jet skis, and tow-behind toys. Should be in a “get on and go” state of readiness.
  • Be available for walks with Mr. and/or Mrs. to discuss new and ongoing projects and report to EM.
  • Cleaning, refinishing, and repair of patio and exterior furniture
  • Weekly visits to Dallas property to perform maintenance checks, lightbulbs checks, and small projects.
  • Coordinate and work in tandem with Landscape Manager & team.
  • Boating Safety Certifications preferred.
Initial Projects Include:
  • Removal of all dead trees on the property
  • Burn backlog of debris
  • Explore economic options for mowing field off the main road
  • Cleaning & organizing equipment barn and garage
  • Manage repair of dock and boat lifts.
Key Skill Requirements:
  • Clear communication skills. Must be able to clearly speak, read and write English.
  • Impeccable references and understanding of discretion.
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Mechanically incline (Trade Licensing will place you at the top of the list)
